No real blog entry last night because I was doing battle with the water heater. Annie and I started to notice the heat of the water wasn't lasting long over the weekend. It came to a head on Monday morning when after I took my shower basically there was no hot water left and that meant Annie had to take a cold one.
I did some troubleshooting on the old water heater. Tested the upper and lower elements for electricity which they both had. I couldn't test the dip stick thing that moves the cold water to the bottom of the tank because my cold water line is soldered on with a brass pipe. I drained the tank to see if there was a bunch of sediment in it. The first bucket full look like some serious poopy water. YUMMY!
I finally decided to turn up the tempeture on the upper thermostat to 130 and turn up the lower thermostat to 125. This morning we both took hot showers without a problem. I am thinking we still have a problem, but at least this patched it for a while. If I can make it until after Christmas I will. I will probably get a new element for the bottom of the water heater since that seems the most likely cause of my problem. Found a lot of good help online. Really it wasn't too bad a of thing. I mean it is better than coming home and finding a pipe has burst in your ceiling and your kitchen is ruined... Look for the whole story in the near future.
Other than that same old same old. Been working hard on my class and Annie is plugging away on her finals. Have done a little Christmas shopping. Watching X-men cartoon. That is about it.
