Alright, the Olympics are over, they moved the Harry Potter movie to next summer so the only thing that we got going on between now and then end of the year is the election, and on what fun this is going to be! I watched a few nights of the Democrat Convention last week. I have watched a few nights of the republican convention this week. Here are my thoughts: 1.) This conventions are super cheesy! The camera shots they choose are so obvious and contrived. 2.) The house band sucks, or at least they don't have a clue when they should start playing and when to end. 3.) People need to know there speeches without a teleprompter, I have seen a number of people nearly have a breakdown because the teleprompter isn't working. LAME. Sarah Palin spoke last night and of course we were all eager to hear it, since most of us haven't heard her speak for much longer than a few minutes, if ever. I felt like she did a great job. I mean, I had low expectations because according to the media she was suppose to come out in hunter orange, caring a gun and drinking a can of oil. Suprisingly she didn't do any of that. Instead she came out, addressed the concerns regarding her family; addressed the concerns regarding her lack of experience and all in all punched Obama a bit. Her speech was greatly different from Joe Biden's speech, which I think Annie summed up pretty well, "I liked his son's speech to introduce him better". When Annie and I were in Europe this summer everyone wanted to talk about Obama. As soon as they found out we were from the U.S.A. they would ask about Obama, and say, "Yes We Can". Clearly they are excited about our politics and really are rooting for Obama. Again, if you listen to our media the world hates Americans because of the last 8 years and that we need someone to come into office that the World will approve of. What we find in our travels and we have been to 9 different countries in Europe during Bush's leadership, is that Europeans don't hate Americans, they simply hate George Bush. They draw a distinct line between to the two. Finally, I saw this story out of London and I thought it was an interesting look into to U.S. Politics and how one U.K. paper perceives Sarah Palin. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/columnists/fergus_shanahan/article1647092.ece

Re: What an election this is going to be.

I think you'd make a much better politician StuDog than any of our current candidates!
