Well last weekend we had freezing rain and today, December 8th 2005 we received our first snow fall of the season.
So far we have I would guess 6+ inches. It took me 2 and half hours to get to Annie's work today. She is only 86 blocks away. Annie and I decided to wait it out during rush hour so we went to Burger King and had dinner, including milk shakes and Star Wars trivia. Annie did really well on the trivia. That's my girl!
We drove home around 7 and got home about 8:30. Usually a half an hour drive. It wasn't too bad though.
Shoveled the driveway when I got home. I did it pretty quick. The neighbor across the street was talking to me while I did it though. He is an insurance adjuster and has been down in New Orleans working with the Katrina victims. Interesting stuff really.
Shovking the driveway goes something like this. At first you are like this is going to be cool. Big shovel, coveralls, snow... awesome! First push of the snow... awesome! Second, still awesome. Third, alright this might get old. By the sixth push you are ready for it to be over. But then you see that you are only a third if that done with the driveway and sidewalks. BAH!!!
I think it is cool because in my neighborhood each person is responsible for their driveway and the sidewalk in front of their house. Therefore we have pretty much clean sidewalks. But there are some neighbors, like one of mine, who never shovel their sidewalk so that stinks. But alas, they don't do much of anything outside from what I can tell. Let the YARD WARS begin!
Wish I had some pictures of the snow for you, but the camera is out of batteries and I haven't had time to pick any up.
