Purhaps my non-posting of the blog will thaw too. Though I doubt it.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good.... OH MY, WHAT THE CRAP IS THIS?

We got together with some friends and started talking movies and decided to make a list of the top 10 movies that we could agree upon over the last decade.  The key here is agree upon.  The idea of this list is something we can hand our children and say you should watch these.  There are a few movies I would have liked to seen on the list but in the end I think we did a pretty good job.  In no particular order.

  • Amelie
  • Lord of the Rings (All Movies)
  • Casino Royale
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  • Borne Identity
  • Shrek
  • The Incredibles
  • Gladiator
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerers' Stone.

Thinking if I replace the Alaska references with Indiana and the Polar Bear with a Cow then this video pretty much describes my website.

My hard drive just crashed. But I got a BAG OF CRAP just now from Woot.com!

Another fun August.  Especially fun this time was that Annie didn't have to go back to work but instead gets to stay home with Sebastian and I.  This has been a big blessing on our family indeed as I get to see both of them throughout the day.

Sebastian is getting bigger and bigger and is definitely getting his own little personality.  I try to make him laugh out loud every day. So far, I think I am pretty close as he loves to smile and giggle.

Here is a long email I wrote to my mother-in-law regarding my thoughts on health care reform.  I am for what campaign Obama said, when he talked about using a scalpel.  I think health care reform is best done slowly and deliberately to make a real change.

1. Putting caps on medical malpractice lawsuits.  Currently a person can sue a doctor for as much money as they want.  This sort of practice has caused the doctors to have to purchase incredibly expensive insurance which they then past the cost on to us.  As far as I can tell, no one is really against this piece, they just say it doesn't go far enough. 2. Allow citizens to buy insurance across state lines.  currently you can only buy insurance in your particular state, you can't buy it from another state.  By tearing down this restriction you immediately make insurance way more competitive (which is what the public option is suppose to do). The democrats are against this because they say that everyone will immediately go to the cheapest, easiest insurance...

Today I believe I was baptized into fatherhood by Sebastian. I had just finished feeding him his rice cereal and picked him up over my head to tell him what a great job he did. He took that opportunity to spit up all of his cereal and milk all over my face.  Luckily I saw this avalanche of gross coming and was able to turn my head before any got in my mouth.

Anyway, pictures and videos are over the last few weeks.  Some of the pictures are from our vacation to Fripp Island, SC.  Others are going to the county fair.  And others are just little pictures of Sebastian.  Enjoy!

Annie’s mom, Gwen, took this picture of Sebastian.  So cute!

Things are going well here at the Hilbert House.  We are trying to get Sebastian to sleep through the night. It has been hard but I think we are starting to feel like we are making progress.  We have had a great summer so far and are looking forward to the fall.

I tried to sign Sebastian, my infant son, up for Facebook so I can tag him in pictures.  Here is the message I got.  It seems like Facebook is a bit of a hypocrite.
