I don’t write poetry, but I have been reading some as of late.  A few months ago I worked on the computer of one of Annie’s colleagues.  The family tried to pay me, but I feel like that sort of work is best done as a good deed, sort of the pay-it-forward system.

A few weeks after working on the family’s computer Annie brought home a book written by the mother of the family.  It is a book of poems she has written and published.  http://www.cascadiapublishinghouse.com/ec/ec.htm  It is a wonderful book, she has a way of taking you back in time, to a place that maybe was slower and made more sense.

I am not sure, but I really enjoyed it.

Anyway, it has sort of got me thinking in maybe a poetry type way in my mind from time to time so today I decided to take a few moments and write down some of my thoughts.  The results being below.

If you ever come to our house You will notice an aged mismatched feel to our furnitureAt...

I think of sayings and quotes all of the time.  I don't know if I make these things up or I have heard them long ago and they stick in my mind.  Either way, I tend to live by the quotes that pop in my head.

Here is one that popped into my head on my way home from the grocery store the other night.

"Life isn't full of things you can't do,
Instead it is full of things you haven't done yet."

Annie and I are sick with head and chest colds...........

You probably wonder why I care that the Colorado Rockies are in the playoffs.  Normally I am not a baseball fan, or, not a strong fan.  I enjoy the game, and I don't mind watching it from time to time.

The reason I am excited about the Rockies is because my sister's, husband, brother plays for the Rockies, Jamey Carroll.

My sister, brother-in-law and nephew are going out to see the games in Colorado.  Pretty exciting stuff.  Colorado looked horrible last night, but hopefully tonight will be a different story.

Go ROCKS!

I came across this while I was waiting for my code to compile just now.  If it is true, I am all for it.  I have ranting to Annie on numerous occasions about the number of junk mail we get.  However, me putting my name on this list will put a stop to the crappy credit card magnet collection I have been building... oh well... so ist das leben.

Basically, this site is like the Do Not Call list for getting junk mail in your mailbox.  The kind of junk mail that kills real trees, not virtual trees.

I was talking to an old co-worker the other time on Skype and she told a funny story that I thought I would share.

Names and places have been changed.

"Nannette" says: I bot a popcorn machine at a yardsale, it was brand new still in the box

"Nannette" says: I have always wanted one of those, you know like the concession stand type

"Nannette" says: My significant other threw a big fit but I bot it anyway

"Nannette" says: So it because the family argument for the week

"Nannette" says: My signficant other finally put it together for me

"Nannette" says: Yesterday our dog destroyed a magazine, absolutely shredded it and my daughter found it when she got home from school

"Nannette" says: My daughter told me when she took the dog outside to go to the bathroom that she pooped out these letters:

"Nannette" says: "Nannette", sell the popcorn machine, it's not worth it

 "STU DAWG" says: hahahaahah

"STU DAWG" says: that is hillarious

Oh dear lord, we are talking about weather on the blog.... what has it come to?

Well, it appears that the indian summer is almost over.  Tomrrow it is suppose to turn into fall here in central Indiana.  That is fine, but I have been enjoying these last few really nice days.

I took a nice stroll over lunch today and yesterday evening Annie and I went on a run on a really nice trail here in Noblesville.  We did 2.5 miles, which is by far the longest I have ran in a long time.  My leg is feeling better which is awesome!

I really enjoy running, which is something 5 years ago I would have swore I would never say.

I remembered that I wanted to pass on a song.  I heard this song a lot during the 2006 Germany World Cup on the German radio station I listen to over the Internet, http://www.horads.de.

Anyway, I recently heard the background music on a commercial on television and so I looked it up.

I think the music is just great.

The video is cute too.  Double Whammy!

Today is shaping up to be a great day in Indiana.  We have a some cloud cover, but the temperatures are heading towards the high 80s.  Indian Summers are wonderful.

I have a few more tomatoes coming on the vine and some green peppers still producing.

Today is a great day to experience God's marvelous creations, which one of those is work so I am going to get back to it.

Stuart
