So this week, week 20, the baby is the size of a banana. Therefore I present you with this picture so you can see what the baby looks like.

Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that we had an ultra sound this week and we are having a baby boy! In one of the pictures the Hilbert baby boy looks like Dick Cheney in profile. Annie assures me that I am indeed the father so I guess it is just one of those things. :)

In a true gesture of companionship Annie and I have both miss-placed our cell phones. To those who call, sorry we aren't there, whereever there might be.

I went over to http://simpsonizeme.com and created myself as a Simpson Character. I don't think it really looks like me at all.

Alright, the Olympics are over, they moved the Harry Potter movie to next summer so the only thing that we got going on between now and then end of the year is the election, and on what fun this is going to be!
I watched a few nights of the Democrat Convention last week. I have watched a few nights of the republican convention this week.
Here are my thoughts: 1.) This conventions are super cheesy! The camera shots they choose are so obvious and contrived. 2.) The house band sucks, or at least they don't have a clue when they should start playing and when to end. 3.) People need to know there speeches without a teleprompter, I have seen a number of people nearly have a breakdown because the teleprompter isn't working. LAME.
Sarah Palin spoke last night and of course we were all eager to hear it, since most of us haven't heard her speak for much longer than a few minutes, if ever.
I felt like she did a great job. I mean, I had low expectations because according to the media she was suppose to...

As I write the closing ceremony is being shown by NBC right now. Thanks to a little magic by Orb.com I am recording it and will watch it tomorrow without the commericals and without needed to stay up until the wee hours of the morning.
This was a gerat olympics, one of the best in recent memories for me. On far too many nights I found myself up way too late watching the coverage. With such atheletes as Michael Phelps and Bolt, there was plenty to watch and enjoy.
The surprise of this Olympics was how much I enjoyed all of the volleyball events. What came as no surprise is that I still don't like watching Olympic basketball.
I thought handball and field hockey were going to be really fun to watch, but in the end they just were a bit bland for me.
BMX and Mountain Biking definitly caught my attention this year as sports that seemed pretty dang cool and challenging. Archery is another that looks like it could be sort of fun to watch.
With the coverage at NbcOlympics.com this...

Do you remember Bode Miller? Yeah, I didn't think so. He was loud mouth, cocky and just an all around a-hole. He was suppose to win all of these Gold Medals in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Tornino. Well, he not only didn't win any gold medals, he plain didn't win any medals at all. Though he did ski down one of his runs on one ski for most of the run, which was interesting to watch.
Well Michael Phelps is the exact opposite of Bode. He is quiet, not cocky and humble.
Congrats to Phelps on his record breaking swim last night. Whether he wins 8 Golds or not, he is surely a name that our generation will never forget. He is the Carl Lewis of the 8-12 year olds. I love the Olympics!

I was walking this evening with Annie when two dogs started barking at us. The dogs were behind a fence and never even came within 10 feet of the fence.
Annie, immediately walked about 10 feet away from the fence the other direction, and then said to me, "I don't like that:".
This prompted me to ask her if she has ever been attacked by a dog. She answered yes.
Then I asked her how many times she had been attacked by a dog in the last ten years. She responded with, "twice".
I was suprised to hear this and said, "how were you attacked?".
Annie responded, "Emotionally".

We celebrated the fourth of July with family. My nephews birthday was July 3 so we went down to celebrate. My sister had an awesome Pirate party for the kids. Lots of pirate games, priate dress up and pirate music, including a techno version of the theme from the Pirates of the Caribeian.
After all the kids had left and it was just our family around I decided to help clean up. The music got going and I was forced by it to dance my own little pirate jig.

Germany, or "Schland" as the German's call it lost to Spain today in the Eurocup Futbol Final. :(
So sad! Germany looked horrible. They only played well for about five minutes.
We watched the game with one of my old co-workers and her family and friends so that was fun!
Perhaps The U.S. will beat Germany in the World Cup Final in two years? I can dream can't I?
